Artist Spotlight | Martina Padilla

For each Crybaby Subscription Box, we think that it’s very important to highlight the makers and the movers that made each box happen. The purpose of the box is to spread support and love while also supporting creatives and their endeavors. These are their stories.

Today's story comes from freelance designer and small business owner Martina Padilla, who runs Fizz Shop Printshop and Wacky Pop Studios.

Martina stumbled across The Crybaby Club and starting following because she loved the message.

"It's okay to cry, and being a sensitive or emotional person is nothing to be ashamed of," Martina said.

She emphasized that you shouldn't be afraid to cry just because it makes other people uncomfortable or because it makes you "ugly."

"I think it's important to be okay with that," Martina said. "I always feel better after a good cry."

For the subscription box, Martina contributed two of her enamel pin designs: the flying stars and starry blue hand.

"These are two of my favorite designs and I'm so happy to share them!" Martina said.

What Makes Her Cry:

About two and a half years ago, I moved to Shanghai with my husband. Sometimes I feel so lonely and so far away from the people I love back in California, that I cry. Then I feel better.

Her Message to Fellow Crybabies:

Everything will be okay and I'm so happy to have found The Crybaby Club!
